VALDOSTA — VALDOSTA — The Rance Gillespie era at Valdosta started with a bang Friday night. Valdosta scored touchdowns on its first three possessions, built a 25-0 halftime lead and defeated Brooks County 35-0 Friday at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.

Wildcat Tradition, Valdosta High's weekly television show with Head Coach Rance Gillespie and host Monty Long. Airtime is 1 hour. Starting on Thursday, August 26th, 2010, the show will air weekly at multiple times on multiple channels. Mediacom customers: VSU TV Channel 20: 8-9 PM ET (Thursday night) & 12-1 AM ET (Friday morning); Channel 96 from 9-10 PM ET (Thursday night).

Signing Day: Four Wildcats college bound

VALDOSTA - On Wednesday morning, Dontavis Sapp wore an orange tie and an orange, white and black hat with the letter T on it, and signed a football scholarship to the University of Tennessee. Right tackle Brandon Freeman signed with Benedict College, a Baptist college in Columbia, S.C. The 6-foot-1, 330-pound Freeman looks forward to wearing the purple-and-gold of the Tigers. Defensive end Marcus Davis and left tackle Jordan Jenkins signed with Carson-Newman on Wednesday.

Wildcat community meets new Valdosta coach

VALDOSTA - On Saturday, Valdosta High football fans got a chance to meet new VHS head coach Rance Gillespie at a meet and greet session held at the Mildred Hunter Community Center. Gillespie made a positive impression on the crowd, drawing several rounds of applause. The new head coach is happy to be at Valdosta.
